In the modern world of sports turf management it has become important to gather data and use this to help us make decisions on turf management practices and justify these to the numerous stakeholders.
The tools have certainly improved to help us all understand various factors that previously were difficult to test.
Once data is gathered it’s important to view this and be-able to share this in an easy to understand report allowing non turf experts to understand the importance of the key factors involved in producing the desired surfaces.
There is of course a correlation between many of the tests, i.e. infiltration, moisture and firmness, which will help make a decision on aeration practice or even help identify how a surfactant is performing on your site.
Testing using modern equipment is important, however, getting your hands dirty and physically studying the rootzone, rootmass and physical organic matter is also key to gaining a 360 report. With this in mind our report studies both the playing surface and the rootzone.
